Job Description:

EBAD seeks an enthusiastic and motivated individual for the position of Electronics Quality Inspector, reporting to the Quality Engineering Lead- Electronics. This position is located in Simsbury, CT.

The Quality Inspector will primarily be responsible for the inspection of incoming materials, in-process assemblies, final assemblies, and completed manufacturing documentation for a variety of electronic and electro-mechanical assemblies in support of the Electronics Value Stream. Responsibilities include:

  • Inspection of electronic components, bare PCBs, in-process and complete PCBAs, cable assemblies, deliverable assemblies, and all associated paperwork
  • Inspection of Electronics per IPC and J-STD requirements (Soldering, Crimping, Staking, Coating, Potting, etc.)
  • Measurement of product to prove dimensional compliance and recording of inspection results in a clear and organized manner
  • Reviewing manufacturing build records to assure that all steps have been properly documented
  • In-process inspection of general workmanship and technical data package compliance
  • Proper documentation and control of non-conforming product
  • Setup and maintain inspection cell in accordance with 5S principles

Requirements:

  • Electronics Inspection Experience (Component Inspection, PCB Assembly, Electromechanical Assembly, and IPC & J-STD Specification Knowledge)
  • IPC-A-610 Inspection Certification (current or previously held)
  • Strong attention to detail for workmanship and accurate documentation
  • Ability to create accurate records of inspections performed, and creation of discrepancy reports
  • Perform visual, dimensional, 1st piece and final inspection of detailed parts and assemblies
  • Ability to work to procedures of little detail as well as follow procedures of strict detail
  • Must be able to manage their time to accomplish assigned tasks
  • Must be willing to travel 5% of the time
  • Must have a high school diploma

Preferred Skills:

  • Review and acceptance of AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports provided by Suppliers
  • IPC-A-620 Inspection Certification
  • J-STD-001 Space Addendum Inspection Certification
