About the Team

The Web Merchandising team is a key function in the Direct to Consumer (DTC) organization that collaborates cross-functionally to help Pottery Barn continue to create an immersive, eCommerce first experience for our consumers. The team drives site merchandising strategy and execution for all categories, collaborating with marketing to drive site implementation of the creative and content strategy, website design, consumer experience strategy and optimization as well as with the operations team.

About the Role

As an Associate Website Merchandiser, you will execute online business, merchandise, visual, and marketing strategies for two product divisions within the Pottery Barn brand to maximize sales. Identify opportunities and recommend new concepts to retain current and attract new customers to grow the brand reach and drive conversion. Work collaboratively cross-functionally with creative, merchandising, e-marketing, and inventory teams to ensure flawless execution. Participate in a dynamic, fast-paced, and fun team environment.

Responsibilities

Manage website merchandising and product discoverability through general site merchandising (Homepage, categories, etc.), navigation/information, architecture, and on-site search optimization.



  • Manage Product Information Page (PIP) Content with Product Copy, Product Information/Specs/Installation instructions, and Cross-Sells/Up-Sells
  • Work with E-Commerce Manager to develop and implement Web merchandising strategy
  • Manage site content, site feedback and enhances overall customer experience across the site and across channels
  • Manage site feedback to enhance overall customer experience by gathering and coordinating fixing of errors/bugs on the web (internal and external web customer service liaison)
  • Identify and recommend new site content and experiences to address customer needs based on analytics, feedback, surveys, and competitive analysis
  • Manage non-purchase path site content (including how-tos, FAQs, store pages, About Us, etc.) and coordinate creation of content with copywriters and web designers
  • Manage product launch process from product introduction hand-off from the product management team to launch execution across all channels (DTC and retail). Maintains monthly master launch list for web and coordinates web product launch between content managers, web developer, site designer, etc.



Criteria



  • 2-3 years previous eCommerce, retail, or catalog experience
  • Strong affinity for the product/concept
  • Visual display or website merchandising experience
  • Able to make timely decisions, anticipate problems and provide creative solutions.
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented
  • Proven analytical, business planning skills
  • Able to deal with ambiguity and a changing environment
  • Strong computer skills, including word processing and spreadsheet applications-must, have an interest in the linkage from systems to the Web
  • Ability to work onsite in the San Francisco corporate office

The expected starting pay range for this position is $75,000 -$85,000. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law. In addition to competitive pay, compensation may include a variety of other components like benefits, paid time off, merit, and bonus opportunities.
