Summary of Position

Teladoc Health's Clinical Operations Center of Excellence supports our comprehensive, integrated, virtual whole-person care model including Primary 360, Chronic Care, Mental Health, General Medicine, Physician Services and Specialty Care. We designed our Centers of Excellence to create integration, optimize our business practices and enhance our ability to deliver value at scale. Teladoc Health's Clinical Operations provides 5.5M visits to members annually.

The Senior Vice President of Clinical Operations is the most senior clinical delivery role at Teladoc Health, leading a growing functional area of 600+ employees, several thousand providers practicing across all US states and territories, P&L of $200M+ and $1.3B in revenue. This individual will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while driving operational efficiency and innovation. The SVP will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide strategic direction, and implement initiatives to enhance clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction.

They will be responsible for managing the team that oversees clinical practice operations, provider scheduling, credentialing, provider recruitment, command center and data analytics. Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, the SVP must be able to operate and execute in a complex functional and matrix management structure, working closely with Operations, Clinical, Marketing, Finance, Product, Legal, and IT leadership to execute the care delivery strategy. The SVP is a key executive leader responsible for overseeing and optimizing the organization's clinical operations and care delivery processes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for clinical operations and care delivery aligned with Teladoc Health Inc., and Teladoc Health Medical Group overall goals.
  • Oversee all aspects of provider recruitment, onboarding, interviewing, hiring, credentialing, and provider satisfaction.
  • Provide leadership and direction for multi-disciplinary teams to ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and patient-centered care. Conduct regular reviews of SLAs, considering evolving project requirements, industry changes, and client expectations. Adjust SLAs as needed to maintain alignment with project and performance goals.
  • Oversee day-to-day clinical operations, ensuring efficient workflows, resource optimization and adherence to quality standards.
  • Collaborate with quality management teams to implement evidence-based practices and drive initiatives to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Evaluate and enhance care delivery models to promote innovation and efficiency.
  • Implement and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and improve operational efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure internal and external service levels for all service lines are met or exceeded.
  • Monitor, assess and improve cost of service and gross margin.
  • Optimize existing product delivery for scale and operationalize new product deployments.
  • Participate in organizational leadership and management team responsibilities to include regular meetings, company presentations and board requests.
  • Provide clinical, operational, and strategic leadership necessary to deliver high-value care.
  • A systems approach to problem solving, product optimization and process improvement.
  • Ensure staffing needs for the delivery of services are met to fulfill SLA's, visit volume expansion and new business opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities for cost containment and revenue enhancement while maintaining high-quality care.
  • Provide market feedback on provider payment and develop new models.
  • Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with internal and external key stakeholders at all organizational levels.
  • Identify technology and process improvements for increased efficiencies, accuracy, and continuous business advancement.
  • Actively participate as member of operating committee. Support corporate initiatives and special projects as needed.
  • Integrate operational acquisition assets as appropriate.
  • Partner with clinical quality organization to execute on board approved annual quality plan.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role within clinical operations and care delivery in a healthcare setting.
  • 15+ years of progressive leadership experience as an operational leader in large scale multi-specialty provider organization or multi-specialty medical group practice (vs Hospital based) that is also multi-state.
  • P & L responsibility for $200M+ managed services, health systems, operations, or provider staffing organization.
  • Master's degree in business administration, health care administration or another related field.
  • Strong financial background and ability to craft, monitor and refine budgets.
  • Proven success with large scale initiatives requiring real-time monitoring, escalation processes, interpreting data, assessing impact, and refining processes to ensure fulfillment to established service-levels.
  • Strong presentation, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability including strong coaching, motivational and interpersonal skills are required with an emphasis on service, team, and individual improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a diverse team.
  • Experience succeeding in matrixed, fast moving, highly collaborative environment.
  • Able to effectively adapt to changing business needs and manage uncertainty and competing priorities.
  • High professionalism and proven ability to interact effectively with all levels of an organization.
  • Establish trustworthy working relationships with clients, customers, regulators, community partners, peers.

The base salary range for this position is $335,000-$370,000.
