Positions range from 33% to 100% each semester. Summer positions are 11%. Anticipated start:
Positions typically start at the beginning of the semester (in mid-January for Spring Semester; in mid-August for Fall Semester). Summer appointments begin in late May and run into early August. Review timeline:
Typically, appointments for summer and Fall semester are reviewed in February/March, and appointments for Spring semester in October/November. Applicants are considered for positions as needs arise; the existence of this pool does not guarantee that a position is available. Position duration:

Application Window Open date: December 26, 2023 Most recent review date: Friday, Feb 2, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Wednesday, Dec 25, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Department of Spanish and Portuguese at UC Berkeley seeks applications for a pool of qualified lecturers to teach Portuguese courses in any of the possible areas: * Literature and culture courses on topics related to any area of the Lusophone world, upper-division, taught in Portuguese In addition to instruction, general duties include holding office hours, developing syllabi and assignments, writing and grading exams, and grading and commenting on papers.
