The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Sponsored Programs Post Award and Operations Manager position, the Columbia Post Award Grants Manager is responsible for all CU post award activities in the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) within NYSPI.

Responsibilities



  1. Post-award project activities:


    1. Review all CU NGA's for terms and conditions. For issues coordinate resolution with SPA/CTO/CTV.
    2. Review federal and non-federal financial reports. Obtain final validation/signature from Principal Investigator. Coordinates submission of financial reports with SPF.
    3. Coordinate with Investigators/administrators and Columbia Finance any needed overrun clearance transactions.
    4. Review and submits requests to SPA via the IPASS for post award budget re-allocations, subcontract purchase order allocations, no cost extension requests, and advance setups.
    5. Update and maintenance of Master systems for consolidating reports.
    6. Follow up on project account setup with SPA office and ensure budgets are setup correctly and in compliance with sponsor rules.
    7. Works with NYSPI divisions and PI's to ensure final scientific progress reports (and if applicable, interim final scientific reports), and Inventions Statement reports.


  2. Post award financial activities:


    1. Assist and advise PI's and/or administrators with post award account management as needed.
    2. Assist payroll and purchasing with post award financial issues.
    3. Assists with carry over requests and tracking carry over approvals by sponsor and seeing that carry over funds are allocated to the correct project/activity.
    4. Manage OMH contracts. Includes reporting, invoicing and renewal submissions.


  3. Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned/requested.


Minimum Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience required; plus 4 years related experience.


Other Requirements



  • Must successfully complete online system training requirements.
  • Minimum 2 years Knowledge and experience with sponsored projects pre/post award.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work appropriately in an extremely busy office environment.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills needed.
  • Organization, attention to detail and analytical skills essential.
