Job Description Summary

The Intern will work with Development Services to provide critical behind-the-scenes support to Enterprise's fundraising team. The Intern will report to the Director of Development Services and work closely with the Sr. Manager of Development Services and the Manager of Prospect Research to process data, develop prospect profiles for potential partners and other key fundraising support tasks. This is an ideal role for an individual who is looking to learn more about how fundraising works at a large, matrixed nonprofit organization and the necessary processes, systems, and tools that support fundraising. This will not be an external-facing fundraising role. Individuals with an interest in research, data and writing are encouraged to apply. The Intern will be expected to work 10 - 15 hours per week for approximately six (6) months, with a potential option to extend an additional six months.

Salary Range $20-$25 per hour.

Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Enter and track donation data in Enterprise's CRM database (Salesforce).

  • Lead tax acknowledgment process with guidance from Sr. Manager, which includes drafting tax acknowledgment letters, sourcing feedback, coordinating mailing and uploading/tracking letters in Salesforce.

  • Conduct prospect research and match/find points of alignment with Enterprise programs, with support from Manager of Prospect Research.

  • Support the development of meeting briefing documents for senior and executive staff.

  • Gain sufficient understanding of Salesforce to be able to answer questions and input or analyze data, as requested by the team.

  • Actively participate in regular Development Services and fundraising team meetings.

  • Ask questions and share perspective on how Development Services can improve practices and processes.

  • Participate in Internship programming, with options to join Enterprise-wide trainings, information sessions and convenings.

  • Other related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to take direction, work independently and take responsibility for moving tasks forward.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail and reliability.

  • Team player, with willingness to collaborate and learn new information.

  • Flexibility and ability to adapt to a variety of situations in a fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to verbally communicate well and in a professional manner with a variety of audiences.

  • Capacity for critical thinking and creative problem solving.

  • Knowledge of fundraising, nonprofit organizations, community development and/or affordable housing industries a plus.

  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
