Purpose: The level 1 Powder Processor performs all essential functions with minimum supervision.

Primary Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:


  • Includes operating, monitoring and maintaining; screeners, air classifiers, blenders and associated equipment.
  • Prepares and maintains production data pertaining to powder processing. Assist in training new personnel performs other related duties as directed by the
  • foundry foreperson/leadperson.
  • Operate, monitor and maintain screeners, air classifiers, blenders and associated equipment.
  • Performs dust checks and sieve analysis prepares and maintains production data associated with processing powders.
  • Operate forklift to transfers powders throughout the facility. Performs other related duties as requested by the foundry foreperson/leadperson.
  • Can process all powder grades efficiently and can trouble shoot problems with powders and/or equipment.
  • Must have the ability to analyze and adjust to unanticipated work situations. Skill in reasoning and problem solving to determine the most beneficial process to maximize yields.
  • Must keep a neat, clean and safe work area to eliminate any possible contamination of powder.
  • Complete other work duties as assigned.
  • Will Cross Train in other positions/departments as assigned.



Non-essential Functions


  • Performs various types of duties assigned by the foundry foreperson/leadperson. Assists in other departments as requested; attends meetings and participates in committees as requested.



Minimum Qualifications:

Same or similar work environment

Education:

High School

Working Hours and Conditions, including Travel Required:

Must maneuver hoppers/containers that weigh up to 156 lbs.

Must lift 44 lbs. from floor to chest.

Ability to cope with frequent job and task changes during the normal 8 hour day. Must be able to establish and effective work flexible work hours when needed and overtime when requested.

Ability to understand written and oral instructions and math to calculate percentages and have the ability to write legibly.

Communicate to the foundry foreperson/leadperson when equipment needs repairs.

Must conform to all safety policies, quality procedures, productivity and inventory reporting procedures.

Equipment used: Screeners, air classifiers, blenders, vibrators, hand pallet jack, forklift, scales, vacuums, hand tools, hoist calculators, copy machine, sieves, dust check equipment, keystone sampling equipment and other as assigned.

Dusts contain: Nickel, chrome, cobalt, copper, silicon and iron. Stress ranges from low to high depending on production requirements.
