MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:



  • Interest in pursuing a cybersecurity career
  • Current Alabama A&M University student actively majoring in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Math with an active interest in pursuing a cybersecurity degree post-graduation
  • Demonstrated academic achievement and must currently have and maintain at least a 3.3 GPA
  • Familiarization with offensive cyber foundational skills

    • Linux/Unix and Windows Architecture and Filesystem
    • Network Exploitation Methods
    • Computer and Network Enumeration Methods


  • Familiarization with Open Source Research Skills and Methods
  • Understanding of Cyber Analyst Roles and Responsibilities
  • Ability to Work Well in a Team Environment
  • Clear Written and Verbal Communication Skills
  • Ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance


SRC IS A CONTRACTOR FOR THE U.S. GOVERNMENT, THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE U.S. CITIZENSHIP AND ELIGIBILITY FOR A U.S. GOVERNMENT SECURITY CLEARANCE AT THE SECRET LEVEL

FILLING THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON FUNDING

As part of our newly created Alabama A&M University Ambassador Internship Program with a cybersecurity focus, we are currently seeking rising Juniors for the 2024-2025 school year majoring in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or Math at Alabama A&M University.

The vision of the AAMU Ambassador Internship Program is to be the leader in preparing and developing the future cyber workforce. SRC wishes to carry out the mission of the National Cyber Range Complex-Unclassified (NCRC-U) to operate as the premier innovation hub for unclassified cyber test and training events, providing mission tailored, hi-fidelity environments that mimic realism in operations.

As part of the program, applicants will need to submit two (2) faculty recommendation letters and a cover letter. SRC will work very closely with AAMU faculty to select students for the program. The start date for the program will be Summer of 2024 and the program will last year round. The program offers students:



  • More competitive pay post-graduation
  • Very specialized instruction and exposure to realistic cyber security situations

  • The chance to earn at least one specialized certification paid on their behalf


PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The student will:


  • Analyze a wide range of security issues including architectures, firewalls, electronic data traffic, and network access
  • Analysis may be performed at many levels of total system product, including: concept design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal
  • Produce quality assurance and information assurance-related reports and documentation
  • Participate in risk assessment analyses of results, identify potential for exploitations and assign risk levels to systems
  • Execute Red Team engagements in a variety of networks using real-world adversarial Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) from conception to report delivery
  • Maintain knowledge of applicable Red Team policies, Standing Ground Rules, regulations, and compliance documents
  • Sharing intelligence among teammates and Intel partners, understand delegation of duties and the ability to cross-train on Intel/Cyber.
  • Document and analyze adversary behaviors into serviceable material to help with security operations
  • Analyze cyber threat incident reporting against existing vulnerabilities to perform a comprehensive recommendation product
  • Travel to Augusta, Georgia will be required
