MINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS



  • 10+ years' of software development experience in C++ (with at least 3 years' of C++11 or >) preferably in small-scale distributed systems with latency restrictions
  • Strong working knowledge of object-oriented design (OOD) principles and software architecture concepts
  • Good understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, algorithms, and operating systems concepts
  • Good understanding of parallelism/concurrency/threading in a distributed environment
  • Strong working knowledge of cmake, GNU compiler collection, and GNU Debugger
  • Strong working knowledge and hands-on experience with scripting languages (BASH, Python) for task automation
  • Great understanding of software development and deployment in a Linux/Unix environment
  • Experience with agile scrum methodologies and practices
  • Experienced in hardware-software integration or system integration
  • Familiarity with digital signal processing (DSP), radio frequency (RF), and/or electronic warfare (EW) concepts
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills


DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS



  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or another technical related field
  • Experience using Atlassian tool suite (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo)
  • Experience as a technical lead for Agile Scrum software teams
  • Experience with gRPC, OpenDIS, and/or DDS
  • Experience developing software applications related to digital signal processing (DSP), radio frequency (RF), and/or electronic warfare (EW) threat systems
  • Working knowledge and experience with networking (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
  • Familiarity with DISA Application Development STIGs and/or RMF process
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps
  • Experience using Git (preferably git-flow)
  • Experience developing and/or reviewing software design documentation packages and architectural diagrams
  • Knowledge of MIL-STD-498 software documentation and development requirements

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Mentor software engineers to allow for skill/knowledge development through advice, coaching, and training opportunities
  • Responsible for ensuring software design documentation and architectural diagrams are developed and updated throughout project lifecycle in accordance with contract requirements
  • Coordinate with division-level software leadership, program management, and product owners to ensure software meets contractual requirements
  • Ensure software team adheres to coding standards and is thoroughly tested prior to pull request approval
  • Develop software project-level testing strategy and coordinate with testing team to develop test plans
  • Ensure software team adheres to strict testing requirements
