Responsibilities

This position is responsible for supervising the daily operations and workflow of the Component Laboratory to ensure that all products meet the safety, purity, and potency requirements of the FDA, AABB and other regulatory agencies. Ensures that cGMP's are followed in all aspects of production.

    Responsible for day-to-day staff management and performance. Promotes a positive work environment and promotes Enterprise values.
  • Resolve technical problems and ensure remedial actions are taken.
  • Supervise or conduct the training and competency assessment of personnel, as needed.
  • Ensure appropriate documentation of training, competency and continuing education of all staff.
  • Assist in writing and revising SOPs based on operational needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform component production procedures as necessary to maintain proficiency.
  • Assist in the implementation of new products Review that quality control is performed and acceptable. Resolve any problems associated with quality control.
  • Ensure that equipment maintenance is performed according to a predetermined schedule.
  • Assist with new computer software, equipment, or test method validation, as required.
  • Review records for completeness and resolve problems.
  • Assist with internal and external audits Convey all pertinent departmental issues with management.
  • Initiate, investigate, research, and help in the resolution of any non-conformance.
  • Ensures the department, equipment and all product storage equipment are operational, clean, neat, and well organized.
  • Assist in monitoring turn-around time for production, testing and product loss.


Qualifications

Education:

High School Diploma or Equivalent. Preferred Associated Degree.

Related Experience:

3 years of experience in laboratory/manufacturing or performing duties in a related area.

Preferred Component production or clinical laboratory,Laboratory manufacturing experience using cGMP,Customer service and Supervisory experience in laboratory setting.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of AABB, FDA, OSHA, and regulations
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Suites
  • Working knowledge of BECS
  • Working Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP)
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Cultural competency and the ability to communicate effectively in a culturally sensitive. manner with both individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds.
  • Demonstrate reliability and strong work ethic.
  • Leadership and management skills.
  • Maintain composure and professionalism.
  • Ability to train staff and perform competency assessments.
  • Ability to review record and execute validation protocols.
  • Ability to work with a team in a fast paced, ever-changing environment.

For applicants who will perform this position in New York City or Westchester County, the proposed hourly salary is $34.00/hr. to $36.00/hr. For applicants who will perform this position outside of New York City or Westchester County, salary will reflect local market rates and be commensurate with the applicant's skills, job-related knowledge, and experience.
