The University of Georgia's Skidaway Institute of Oceanography (SkIO) is a multidisciplinary research institution located on a 700-acre campus on Skidaway Island. The Institute's primary goals are to further understanding of marine and environmental sciences, conduct leading edge research on marine and coastal systems, and train tomorrow's scientists. Our campus is also a host to Georgia Southern University's Applied Coastal Research Lab,
NOAA Gray's Reef National Marine Sanctuary, The University of Georgia's Marine Education Center and Aquarium, and The Nature Conservancy. Skidaway Institute of Oceanography is also home to the R/V Savannah. The R/V Savannah is operated by the Institute and is a member of the University National Oceanographic Laboratory System (

Availability
a. Be available to support students during the Field Study experience. This will include negotiated duty periods during evening hours and "on call" hours not to exceed 25 hours per week.
b. Reside on campus during the employment period.
c. Coordinate with Program Director to schedule periods away from campus.
d. Support staff at the
UGA/Marine Extension Aquarium not exceeding 15 hours per week. |

c. Plan, implement, and evaluate community building activities.

e. Ability to work with K-12 students (minors) on educational programs. |

Crisis Management
a. Provide leadership and model appropriate behavior in a crisis.
b. Fulfill on-call responsibilities as communicated by the Program Director.
c. Demonstrate care and concern for student wellbeing by following up with students involved in crisis situations.
d. Confront alleged policy violations, behavioral concerns, and facility issues.
e. Consult and work with Program Director and/or other staff members on call when developing a plan to respond to student issues. |

a. Submit work requests for all facility concerns.
b. Meet deadlines set by Program Director and/or Institute.
c. Attend and be punctual to scheduled meetings, trainings, and events.
