Description

American Honda Finance Corporation (dba Honda Financial Services and Acura Financial Services), a wholly owned subsidiary of American Honda Motor Co., Inc., helps to satisfy the financing needs of consumers of Honda and Acura vehicles, Honda and Acura accessories, as well as Honda motorcycles, power equipment, and marine products. AHFC offers financing in the form of both retail installment sales contracts and leases, depending on the product and the needs of the customer.

About this Position:

The Senior Financial Analyst - F & A Transformation Support will contribute to the development, presentation and implementation of short, mid-term and long-term strategic plans to help support AHFC's Operations in their transformation to the future of Honda. The Senior Analyst will evaluate changes to business processes, ensure that all Financial Reporting and SOX risks are mitigated and effectively communicate the change to F & A Management. The Senior Analyst will contribute to the standardization of a change management evaluation process. This role will support the AO Modelling area as a resource to provide accurate and timely estimates and support used for financial reporting in areas related to credit loss and residual value loss for AHFC & HCFI CFS/DFS portfolios. Develop, enhance, and maintain financial models and assumption updates/enhancements under USGAAP and IFRS reporting standards. The Senior Analyst will be responsible for administration of the HCFI credit loss model and communication to the Company's Credit Loss & Residual Value Loss Committees to explain fluctuations in allowances due to changing business conditions, regulatory environment, and accounting policies.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

* Analyze and evaluate new Initiatives and changes.

Qualifications

Who are we seeking:

* 4 year BS degree from a major university with the emphasis on Accounting, Finance, Economics or Statistics

* Minimum 7- years' experience in financial analysis and accounting

* Work experience must include 7+ years in a lending or financial field

* Must have a solid understanding of the automotive industry/automotive finance business

* Extensive experience with Microsoft Office suite (Access, Excel, Work, PowerPoint) and Business Objects (relational databases)

* Experience in analytics of consumer finance receivables

* Knowledge of consumer credit performance metrics, used car market, Honda/Acura products, macro-economic indicators, SOX controls, and external audit processes

Other Job Specific Skills:

* Ability to work with large data sets to derive, aggregate, and calculate key performance metrics and assumptions

* Ability to maintain financial models based on specific accounting and reporting requirements

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Highly detailed analytics skills to understand, interpret, and effectively communicate results of financial models

* General knowledge of GAAP related to credit loss allowances and lease accounting

* Excellent oral & written communication skills to effectively interface with management, co-workers, external parties, & auditors

* Excellent Presentation Skills

* Competitive Base Salary: $79,700 to $119,600
