Cybersecurity Systems Engineer - Entry Level

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Cybersecurity Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering field. Agile experience preferred.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:

Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Progeny Systems/General Dynamics Mission Systems is a high-tech business focusing on software and hardware system integration, cutting-edge research and development, and manufacturing. We provide premium systems, services, and products for the Department of Defense, government agencies and commercial clients. We are seeking a highly motivated Entry-level Cybersecurity Systems Engineer to support the development and maintenance of systems engineering documentation and processes in support of U.S Navy Cybersecurity Software.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design Cybersecurity capabilities to meet Navy requirements and provide security against emerging threats
• Analyze current systems engineering documentation and processes
• Assist with generating Subsystem Level Requirements, Software Requirement Specification (SRS), Interface Requirements Specification (IRS) from Security Controls, Performance Specification (PSPEC), and Concept of Operations (CONOPS) documents.
• Participate in various technical and program meetings on a weekly basis.
• Work closely with small group of developers to ensure implementation is in accordance with the requirements.
• Review and execute various test procedures including Performance Verification Test (PVT), System Level Test (SLT), etc. to ensure testing appropriately validates requirements
• Research, identify, and evaluate enterprise applications used to support the program.
• Evaluate system requirements and configuration for compliance with Authorization and Accreditation requirements.

We encourage you to apply if you have these preferred skills or experience:

• Familiarity with topics including TLS/SSL and AES encryption; SHA hashing; access control; auditing; network firewalls; intrusion detection/prevention, certificate use, etc.
• Awareness of cyber standards such as ICD-503, NIST 800-53, DJSIG, or the DoD 8500 series
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office: Microsoft Visio, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Understanding of networking, protocols, e.g., UDP, TCP/IP, ICMP, encryption, etc.
• Demonstrable evidence of an analytical approach to problem solving is a *must*.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic Linux command-line knowledge.
• Ability to read C, C++, and Java source code desired, but not required.
• Cybersecurity minor or certification a plus.

Target salary range: USD $76,000.00/Yr. - USD $85,000.00/Yr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
