Position description

DIVISION OF PULMONARY, CRITICAL CARE, ALLERGY AND SLEEP MEDICINE - CLINICAL INVESTIGATOR OR CLINICIAN EDUCATOR

The Department of Medicine, Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, Allergy and Sleep Medicine is seeking board certified/board eligible allergists/immunologists for a faculty position. The selected candidate will be appointed at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor at UCSF depending on qualifications and interests.

The rapidly growing UCSF Allergy/Immunology program offers inpatient and outpatient consultative services and continuity care. Allergy/Immunology ambulatory care is provided at the Parnassus Ambulatory Care Center with plans for a future clinic at Mission Bay Ambulatory Care Center. Providers see a broad range of general allergy/immunology conditions and collaborate closely with multiple specialties including infectious disease, obstetrics/gynecology, oncology, pulmonary to provide subspecialized care including, but not limited to, primary immunodeficiency, secondary hypogammaglobulinemia, severe asthma, antibiotic allergy delabeling, and chemotherapy/biologic desensitization. In addition to clinical practice, faculty are expected to contribute to fellowship education and work with trainees including medical students, residents, and fellows.

The candidate must have completed residency training in Pediatric or Internal Medicine and fellowship training at an accredited Allergy and Immunology Fellowship Program. A history of teaching or academic productivity is preferred. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to the development of a distinctive clinical or research program in Allergy and Immunology, as well as superior teaching skills.

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $121,100-$320,100. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

For positions that are 50% effort or less:

See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $86,500-$228,600.
