Our Internship Program

Cboe interns work with a variety of staff across multiple departments and have the opportunity to put their skills to work in their field of interest, while learning about Exchange technology and operations through our robust Options Institute courses. The three main foundational pillars of our internship program are: develop, educate and network. We want to ensure each of our interns receive a real-world working experience that encourages academic, professional and personal growth. Candidates should be versatile, eager and able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive financial and technical environment. Our internship program runs from June to August.

Role Overview:

This is a summer intern program designed to engage you in day-to-day activities and projects contributing towards our team and corporate goals.As a summer intern at Cboe Global Markets you will have the unique opportunity to apply that you have learned to actual business situations and to learn about the financial industry.

The Incident Response Intern position is intended to provide exposure to the various functions, tools, and activities focusing on detecting and responding to cyber security incidents. The Incident Response Intern will be tasked with a range of responsibilities that provide real-world, hands-on experience with SIEM, SOAR, EDR, incident triage, and incident response. You will interact with member of the entire Cyber Security Team along with Networking Engineering and Infrastructure teams to triage and solve problems.

This role can be based out of one of our state-of-the-art tech offices in Chicago, NYC, or Kansas City on a hybrid model or 100% remote across the US.

REQUIREMENTS:

The ideal candidate will be an undergraduate student with a strong technology emphasis, majoring in Information Security, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience related to these fields. The candidate must have a passion for learning and enthusiasm for cyber security. This candidate should also have base knowledge of:

  • Basic security concepts and best practices
  • Common security threats and vulnerabilities
  • Common Ports/Services
  • Basic networking concepts
  • Basic Windows and Linux concepts
  • Microsoft Office

The intern will present a final report or complete a project tailored as much as possible to their particular area of interest.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Conduct incident triage in support of incident response investigations
  • Develop comprehensive reports for technical and non-technical audience
  • Develop scripts or tools to enhance Cboe Global Market's incident response processes and capabilities
  • Keep up to date with the latest cyber security threats and technologies
  • Update procedures and methodologies to improve the incident response process
  • Assist incident response team with day to day operational activities

As required by the New York City Human Rights Law, Cboe provides a reasonable range of minimum base salary for roles that may be performed in New York City. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, level of experience, etc. For New York City only, the range of pay for this role is $30 - $36/an hour. Additional incentive compensation and benefits may be available.
