Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Biomedical Equipment Technician I, works under the direction and/or guidance of senior personnel and assures that all clinical equipment technologies in assigned areas are operating safely and accurately. The Biomedical Equipment Technician I, performs safety checks, corrective and planned maintenance, calibrates, and maintains all types of basic medical equipment technologies, devices, instruments and systems. Provide support both on-site and remotely to a hospital, service center location, or within an assigned territory.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The essential functions of the job include but are not limited to the following:

* Respond expeditiously to calls from clinical departments, and/or customers to evaluate and rectify valid operator complaints and concerns.
* Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect a diverse range of therapeutic and diagnostic, clinical instrumentation and equipment.
* Perform planned maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices, and systems.
* Diagnose, correct, and repair system and equipment malfunctions.
* Maintain an orderly and functional working environment, ensuring tools and test equipment are calibrated and are in good working order before use, and follow the 5S methodology.
* Participate in assigned on-call services in accordance with contractual guidelines and/or departmental policies.
* Flexibility to work augmented shifts based on the unit's needs to meet with client's contractual requirements.
* Research and initiate orders for repair parts, working with the supervisor and/or the Technical Resource Center; demonstrate ability to effectively find second-source parts.
* Provide accurate and timely database management of the CMMS in accordance with our Quality Management System and related policies and procedures.
* Schedule and oversee third-party service as necessary.
* Individual will be expected to participate in huddles, meetings, seminars, training, workshops, and conferences as required.
* Learn, understand, and comply with all government, regulatory, industry, company, and client Policies and Procedures, and subsequent updates.
* Complete all required training (e.g., skills-based, client, work-related, certification).
* Perform other duties as assigned that are intrinsic to the successful operation of the account and the company.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Associates degree in biomedical equipment technology, electronic equipment technology, or military training preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Certification(s) preferred i.e., CABT, A+, etc.

Experience: Entry-level experience servicing clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital, clinic, or service environment as an intern, employee, contractor, or Co-Op.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT:

* Ability to walk, stand, or sit for prolonged periods.
* Position requires bending, stooping, reaching up and/or lifting up to 50lbs.
