Job Summary |
Coordinates and helps implement K-12
STEM Outreach educational programs for the College of Sciences and Mathematics, with particular emphasis on secondary science/math programs (6th - 12th grades) such as Science Olympiad, Destination
STEM, EmpowHER and Alabama Science and Engineering Fair.

TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:

Essential Functions |
- Coordinates aspects of Outreach-related educational program(s) and service(s) to include the planning, development, and execution of programs.
- Oversees and organizes event logistics that may include but are not limited to reserving space, managing program registrations, communicating event specifics with participants, campus event approval, program guides, securing vendor rentals, audiovisual needs, and event security.
- Oversees support activities for events such as set-up, catering, cleaning, breakdown, etc. ensuring the event operates without disruption.
- Establishes and evaluates successful metrics for program(s) and incorporates changes as needed in order to ensure continuous growth and success of program(s).
- Coordinates and provides hands-on training to staff and/or volunteers to ensure others are successfully maintaining the facility (if applicable) and conducting program(s) as required.
- Works in conjunction with other staff and/or volunteers to support current programs and identify new opportunities.
- May be responsible for monitoring the conditions of facility(ies) and grounds to ensure janitorial and other maintenance is performed as necessary.
- May be responsible for assisting in marketing and communication efforts.

- Involves occasional exposure to demands and pressures from persons other than immediate supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications |
Minimum Required Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in a science discipline with K-12 teaching experience or experience working with youth, or degree in science education with teaching experience.
- Experience working with youth in formal or informal education environments is required.
- Proficient with standard office computer software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Physical Requirements/ADA: Periodically involves the following:

$16.00 - $23.00/hour |
Work Hours |
7:45am - 4:45pm, Monday- Friday; Must be willing to work occasional night and weekend events. Generally, 25 - 30 hours/week |
