Job Summary
This is a grant funded position. Continuation of employment is contingent upon performance and the availability of funding.

Performing research experiments in a laboratory setting conducting preclinical in vitro and in vivo studies in the area of Alzheimer's disease.

Temporary Employment Services ( TES), a unit of the Auburn University Department of Human Resources, is an in-house support center established to meet the temporary employment needs of the university. TES provides qualified and dedicated temporary employees in a wide variety of occupations to meet the staffing needs throughout the campus. Temporary employees are hired for a variety of reasons with the most common being:

  • Assistance in the place of a regular employee who is absent for a specified period of time
  • Additional assistance during periods of abnormal or peak workloads
  • Assistance with special projects
  • Seasonal work
  • Emergencies

Essential Functions
Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct routine lab maintenance and experiments and assist graduate students with basic biochemical, cell, and molecular biological techniques to support current projects.
  • Assist in basic laboratory duties such as tracking supplies and preparing solutions and media.
  • Assist in lab safety by monitoring and maintaining laboratory safety compliance.
  • Participate in laboratory meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Entry into the applicant pool requires a high school diploma or equivalent plus one year of relevant experience performing research in a lab setting including basic molecular biology and biochemical techniques.
  • Employer may consider advanced degrees in lieu of experience.
  • This position requires a person that can provide a high degree of accuracy, reliability, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Candidate must provide the highest standard of lab practices.

Desired Qualifications
Previous lab research experience preferred.
