The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary We are interested in hiring a Tech B position for the New York Brain Bank. The New York Brain Bank (NYBB) collects postmortem human brains to meet the needs of neuroscientists investigating neurological disorders, including a wide diversity of dementias and movement disorders with or without dementia. This position will report to the Director of the NYBB. Responsibilities 1) Perform the banking and organization of frozen post-mortem tissue, 2)Fulfil tissue requests and requests for additional information on tissue, 3) Dissecting fixed brains for slide generation and diagnosis as well as organization of these materials for future research, 4) Involvement with resident education on brain banking. There are also two large-scale organizational projects of brain bank materials that this new hire will be involved in, which will be described during the interview process. Additional opportunities for involvement in clinical conferences and basic science research will be available. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in biological sciences, chemistry, physics, or related fields or equivalent in education, training, and experience.
