Position: Manufacturing Engineering Intern
Location: Wadesboro, NC
Position Overview: Documentation of existing routings and associated programming, tooling, and work holding to identify more effective ways to organize and manufacture product. Identify process improvement opportunities for how parts flow throughout the manufacturing process and assist with project management of new capital projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Evaluate, document, and assess current manufacturing and engineering processes, equipment, and parts related to assembly and machining.
  • Develop systems to help organize and present information more accurately and timely.
  • Develop new processes to improve efficiency.
  • Create mechanical designs with direction from engineers.
  • Work with lead engineer(s) to document part numbers used in the Bill of Material generation.
  • Detail designs created by engineers including tolerances, fits, dimension schemes etc.


Knowledge, Skills, Competencies, and Abilities:


  • General manufacturing process knowledge
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to define an issue and examine solution alternatives
  • Familiarity with basic Microsoft Office applications (Communication apps, Spreadsheet, Word Processing)
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to work and communicate effectively in a team environment


Required Qualifications:


  • Enrolled in a program to complete a Bachelor's Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Available full time (40 hours) from June 3, 2024 to August 9, 2024
  • Ability to travel at the start and end of the internship
