Department: Creative Content / Marketing

Reporting Relationship: Reports to Lead Graphic Designer

Status: Intern / Full-Time (Non-exempt)

Duration: Temporary - Runs through the end of the 2024 Charlotte FC season, to include potential playoffs.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Charlotte Football Club is seeking a talented Graphic Design Intern with a working knowledge of producing graphics for digital and print publications. Our internship provides an opportunity for students and those recently graduated to gain practical experience working and creating graphics for the business operations of a Major League Soccer team and it's MLS NEXT Pro and Academy Teams. Graphic Design Interns work closely with the Graphic Designers on a day-to-day basis, and report to the Lead Graphic Designer.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Create and design print and digital materials collaborating with marketing, sponsorship, digital, ticketing, community, partnerships, stadium, premium services, content, social media, human resources, and other departments within the organization to consistently produce deliverables in a timely and effective manner.
  • Adhere to Charlotte Football Club and Crown Legacy Football Club brand guidelines and complete projects according to deadline.
  • Maintain and organize Adobe asset libraries and file hosting services such as Dropbox and Slate.
  • Use graphic design software and work with a wide variety of media.
  • Communicate and collaborate directly with the design team on brainstorming, developing, and executing design work for the organization.
  • Receive feedback from the Creative Team and make necessary changes.
  • Occasionally assist in match day design operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:



  • Currently working towards an undergraduate degree or recently graduated with a degree in a content-related field.
  • Must have a working knowledge of Adobe's Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
  • Basic knowledge of layout (i.e. typography, balance, scale) and other design fundamental techniques.
  • A portfolio of self-created graphic design work.

  • The ability to prioritize workload to manage time and tasks.
  • Be willing to accept or be open to feedback and critique related to design projects.



WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:



  • This position is in-person preferred but open to remote.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to remain standing/walking for up to 8 hours.
  • Ability to climb stairs.
  • Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, and endure weather conditions, including rain, wind, high and low temperatures, etc.
  • Must be able to work in non-traditional settings, and work non-traditional hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
