Overview

ABOUT THE POSITION

VHB's Atlanta, Georgia office is seeking an Environmental Planning Intern to join our team for the Fall of 2024. This is an exciting part-time opportunity to work within a dynamic team, across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope.

Responsibilities

    Prepare documentation to support National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and similar environmental review documentation for aviation projects, which includes preparing quantitative, qualitative, and spatial analyses for the planning-related chapters, including land use, zoning and public policy; community facilities; open space; socioeconomic conditions; shadows; urban design; and infrastructure.
  • Prepare environmental permitting documents
  • Consult and coordinate with regulatory agencies
  • Coordinate with project team members

Skills and Attributes

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Fast learner, self-motivated
  • Highly organized
  • Capable of coordinating and performing multiple tasks concurrently
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and GIS, desired
  • Experience with Adobe Suite a plus

Qualifications

  • Candidates must be currently enrolled in a bachelor's or master's degree in environmental science, urban planning, public policy, or a related field.

Hiring Salary Range: $19/hr - $28/hr. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
