The day-to-day

We are seeking our next Mechanical Assembler! Do you enjoy taking equipment apart and then putting it together again or fixing equipment when it isn't working correctly? You will utilize your mechanical skills by putting together assemblies for Viasat, including large antennas using light equipment and tooling. Working as part of a bigger team within our Manufacturing area, your sense of teamwork will draw you into additional duties, including moving equipment and integrating assemblies into our bigger systems. If you can learn the job, we'll train you to do it, and do it right, from documentating to following processes and procedures! Additional duties may be assigned.

The work schedule is Monday thru Friday, (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM). The successful candidate would be available to work overtime as required.


What you'll need

  • 2+ years' experience in mechanical assembly, (mechanical tools, drills, and impact tools - professional or personal)
  • Ability to follow instructions and read fabrication drawings
  • Ability to work with Bills of Material, Engineering Change Orders
  • Ability to use Oracle
  • Ability to install bearings, gears, and motors.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. and work outside at heights up to 100 feet
  • High School diploma or GED US government position.
  • US government position. US Citizenship is required.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening

  • Operate forklifts and aerial lift.
  • Ability to work on documentation and procedures

This role is considered a Safety-Sensitive position and requires participation in Viasat's Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Program. This includes successful completion of any program requirements including a pre-employment drug screening.

FAA safety sensitive

This is an FAA safety sensitive position, which requires participation in our Drug-Alcohol program, including pre-employment testing and random testing. It is an essential function of the position that the employee meets the safety requirements of the FAA.
Salary range

$20.43 - $34.23 / hourly

Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
