Description

Are you an experienced human resource (HR) professional interested in participating in the building and implementation of a recruitment strategy designed to attract diverse talent to the Department of Retirement Systems? Do you enjoy consulting with hiring managers to determine effective recruitment efforts and possess a strong attention to detail that is used throughout the recruitment lifecycle? Duties

The Opportunity:

As the Recruiter, you will work with hiring managers to design effective and efficient recruitment strategies and timelines to fill DRS positions.

Some of what you'll do:

  • Draft recruitment announcements, partnering with the agency's DEI Consultant to ensure announcements are drafted using a DEI lens;
  • Post job opportunities to identified websites and social media, an perform targeted recruitment efforts for hard-to-fill positions;
  • Provide guidance to hiring managers and interview panels through the recruitment process;
  • Utilize the NEOGOV recruitment system to enter and open requisitions, build exam plans, schedule assessments and interviews, and invite applicants to self-schedule for dates/times;
  • Ensure candidates are referred to hiring managers for consideration in accordance with civil service rules and collective bargaining agreements;
  • Send timely email communications to ensure applicants are regularly and effectively informed of their application status;
  • Close out recruitments in a timely manner;
  • Attend hiring events, job fairs, and outreach programs to promote DRS as an employer; and
  • Contact potential applicants to build relationships and promote agency recruitments.
NOTE: During the review period, you will be required to work at the DRS building on a full-time basis. After successful completion of the review period and effectively demonstrating the ability to perform work independently, you may be eligible to telework up to two days per week, at the discretion of the Human Resources Director and with a telework agreement in place. The ability to work remotely is dependent on the nature of the tasks and projects assigned and the presence of a remote work environment that is safe and has an appropriate level of reliable connectivity. You must live within a reasonable commuting distance (less than 50 straight-line miles) to the DRS building in Tumwater, WA, and must be willing to adjust your telework schedule to attend mandatory meetings, trainings, etc., at the DRS facility.

Qualifications

What we're looking for (required qualifications):

  • Proven experience performing professional-level, full-cycle talent acquisition activities. This experience is typically gained from a minimum of three (3) years of full-time professional work experience (a Bachelor's degree with focus on human resources OR Human Resource certification from a recognized college or certification program may substitute for up to one(1) year of experience);
  • Demonstrated understanding of the recruitment lifecycle;
  • Demonstrated experience using Applicant Tracking Systems (experience using NEOGOV for full-cycle recruiting is highly desired);
  • Proven ability to work with others who have a wide range of abilities, backgrounds, skills and experience;
  • Demonstrated skill and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and SharePoint (version 2016 or newer);
  • Demonstrated skill and proficiency with virtual meeting platforms, including the use of polls, breakout rooms, etc.;
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage and respond to frequent and rapid changes in workload and priorities; and
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the following competency areas:
