The data science team at MCG Health is looking for a Staff Data Scientist to assist our work creating state of the art machine learning solutions that improve the efficiency of clinical documentation.

As a Staff Data Scientist, you will be responsible for developing standardized evaluation tools and procedures that will allow us to consistently compare performance between disparate models and systems as well as perform ablation studies. Additionally, you'll develop our strategies for analyzing and monitoring our training data for drift and representativeness. The position requires a combination of strong Python package writing skills and statistical knowledge, particularly in evaluating predictive performance.

You will:



  • Develop standardized evaluation techniques that allow easy comparison of internal and external models for a variety of use cases
  • Monitor distributional drift
  • Serve as in house expert on statistical analysis of model performance, representativeness, and calibration
  • Keep abreast of new methodologies for evaluating generative models and other complex deep learning techniques.


What We're Looking For:

Minimum Qualifications Required



  • Expert level proficiency in Python or R
  • Ability to write reliable, extensible packages
  • Demonstrated experience translating high level requirements into useful tools
  • Excellent knowledge of frequentist and Bayesian statistical techniques
  • Exposure to conformal prediction techniques
  • Good understanding of design of experiment principles
  • Experience generating visualizations for evaluation of complex systems
  • +5 years of previous industry experience in Data Science


Preferred Qualifications



  • Good written communication skills
  • Experience with cloud based machine learning training providers (Sagemaker, AzureML or similar)
  • Experience with basic principles of deep learning and/or natural language processing
  • Experience working specifically on automated model evaluation

Anticipated Pay Range: $153,375 - $218,925

Other compensation: Bonus Eligible
