Under the general supervision of the VP of Direct Clinical Services, the Peer Support Specialist - Outpatient clinics offers guidance and support to people who are struggling with substance abuse, psychological trauma, or mental health disorders. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA'S)
REQUIRED EDUCATION: A High School Diploma. NOTE: Additional years of Peer Recovery Experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for required education.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience performing Peer/Recovery or Peer Support services. Two (2) year lived experience with Substance Use Disorder REQUIRED CERTIFICATION(S). Certified Peer Recovery Coach REQUIRED LICENSE(S). A valid State of Michigan Driver's License with a safe and acceptable driving record. WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is usually performed in an office setting but requires the employee to drive to different sites throughout Wayne County and the State of Michigan.
