Job Summary Under the direction of the Quality Lab Supervisor, with guidance from the Quality Lab Tech Lead, the QA Dock Audit Specialist's primary responsibility will be for the completion of auditing final product prior to shipment. This is accomplished thru a systematic approach of understanding risks to Quality, opening final boxes and reviewing of product to ensure compliance to Customer Requirements. This position requires the Technician to be able to complete product/process inspections in a production floor environment as well as in a lab environment while managing files and software. Overtime will be required including some weekend hours. This position will also support / help maintain HellermannTyton's TS16949/ISO14001/EMS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation. Essential Functions: Understand Customer Expectations as they relate to Product Quality Thrive in and help support a Team Atmosphere Help support the HellermannTyton Team by mentoring Operators regarding Quality of Product Perform 1st Piece Inspection of manufactured product Perform in-process inspection of manufactured product Perform Product specific tests including but not limited to tensile Perform moisture analysis on manufactured product as well as incoming Verify Material Certification and Approve raw material Enter and edit SPC data in the SPC computer file File all QA records and samples (obsolete and current). Use incoming color chip samples to verify colorant in receiving Handle non-conforming material isolation and documentation Perform a dimensional layout referencing the HellermannTyton drawing Use SPC software Record all inspection and test data. Weigh parts. Use control plans. PPAP and PPC testing. Assist in maintaining HellermannTyton's Quality and Environmental certification by supporting: Corporate policies, procedures, work instructions and required documentation. Other Functions Maintain a clean lab environment. Ability to work independently in a fast paced environment Become a "go-to" person regarding product compliance to standards Identify Risks to Quality and communicate them to appropriate personal Other duties may be assigned, including filling in as a QA Lab Tech when required / needed Support LEAN Work Environment Key Competencies
Qualifications (skills, knowledge, experience) High school diploma or equivalent required. 1 year prior lab experience preferred Good math and communication skills. Computer skills - Windows, Excel Good vision. Mic and caliper knowledge preferred. Problem solving skills. Blue print reading skills preferred. Excellent verbal & written communication skills. Bend over in order to lift 50lbs. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs. All employees entering the Manufacturing area and other identified locations must wear the designated Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for their position. Wearing your Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a condition of employment. Ability to work daily and weekend overtime to meet the needs of the department and customer.
