General Summary:

The Assistant Manager, Manufacturing position develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, shop floor technicians, materials, parts, tooling and production equipment capabilities while meeting quality control standards.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Manages talent development, coaches, and develops high performance teams.

2. Provides visionary leadership through communication and knowledge transfer.

3. Develops, evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods, materials, parts, tooling, and production equipment capabilities while meeting quality control standards.

4. Analyzes work requirements and outlines the schedules and methods to be followed for efficiency and safety.

5. Plans, develops, coordinates, assigns and directs medium production teams and processes.

6. Leads the development, evaluation, and improvement of manufacturing methods.

7. Estimates staffing requirements and related costs. Confers with management and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, etc. to facilitate production processes.

8. Analyzes and plans work force utilization through continuous improvement concepts.

9. Enforces all Company rules, policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Prepares and manages correspondences, reports, and documents related to safety, quality, delivery, cost, morale and environmental

Qualifications

Education, Experience, Certification and/or Licensure:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent.

2. 14 years experience in manufacturing aerospace industry.

3. A&P and/or other related licensure strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Strong knowledge in Continuous Improvement practices. Proven record of success in implementation.

2. Understands principles of manufacturing, production planning, engineering and finance.

3. Strong leadership skills.

4. Strong Project management skills.

5. Excellent communication skills both orally and written.

6. Strong analytical skills.

7. Familiar with SAP and Teamcenter operation systems preferred.

8. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Lotus Notes).

9. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to work with cross functional areas.

Physical Requirements:

1. Incumbents may be routinely exposed to equipment operational noise heat-cold-dust, and/or aircraft equipment, parts, or fuel odors.

2. Incumbents may be required to stand, sit, squat, walk, bend, move, reach, or stretch for prolonged time periods with no restrictions, as required by job duties.

3. Work in a safe and professional manner while adhering to all regulatory requirements (FAA, OSHA, DOT, EPA, State, and Federal regulations, etc.).

4. Read, hear, speak, and see with no restrictions, as required by job duties.

5. Comprehend and adhere to management directions and/or safety instructions with no restrictions.

6. Effectively communicate in Business English language.

7. Pull, push, carry, lift, or move items up to 10 lbs. throughout the work shift without assistance, as required by job duties.

8. Pull, push, carry, lift or move materials/people/items/equipment weighing up to 50lbs or more during the work shift, with the use of Company provided "reach assistance technology" or "movement assist technology" (fork-lifts, pallet jacks, pulleys, dolly's, robotics reach equipment, people movers etc.), as required by job duties.
