Requisition Summary

Perform cost accounting function with an emphasis on margin analysis, month-end closing and financial reporting. The position will supervise staff members and will report to the Cost Accounting Manager.

Job Functions / Responsibilities
* Supervise the day-to-day and month-end activities of 1 or 2 staff accountants to ensure the preparation of timely, accurate and meaningful margins, cost standards, material variance analysis, cost applications and inventory valuations based on knowledge of product, pricing, procurement, and manufacturing systems. This includes US and Canada consolidated financial information.
* Prepare and/or review various cost of sales journal entries, general ledger reconciliations and perform account analysis.
* Participate in various month-end financial statement closing duties, including margin analysis.
* Perform monthly analysis on changes in costs for typical truck models
* Supervise and participate in the preparation of timely, accurate and meaningful cost of sales forecasts and subsequent reviews against actuals.
* Analyze cost reserves and other account balances to ensure they are regularly reviewed and properly stated.
* Responsible for the review and/or preparation of monthly, quarterly and year-end financial reporting statements/schedules related to margins and/or cost of sales activities including supporting internal and external auditors.
* Develop and implement various process improvements to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
* Train, develop and retain a well-qualified cost accounting team through recruitment, coaching and development activities.
* Drive the use of data analytic tools to identify cost of sales reduction opportunities.
* Present margin analysis results periodically to Management.
* Support cross-functional business needs working as a business partner with Sales, Marketing and Operations to drive profitable growth for Kenworth Truck Company.
* Assist and/or supervise assigned Division internal control reviews including Sarbanes-Oxley documentation/testing and Internal Control Assessment Program reviews including identifying potential risks and opportunities.
* Special projects as assigned, including periodic truck division comparisons, technical accounting research related to new product offerings, system related projects, and ad hoc reporting requests.

Qualifications & Skills
* Bachelor's degree required with Accounting emphasis preferred.
* 4+ years of relevant accounting experience, including supervisory and increasing responsibility.
* Understanding of US GAAP; CPA / MBA preferred.
* Strong computer skills in Excel (i.e. pivot tables, macros, charts and graphs), Access (i.e. query building, report writing, etc.) and data analytic tools (i.e. Tableau etc.)
* Strong organizational skills, including ability to manage multiple projects from beginning to end
* Deadline-driven, self-motivated and customer service oriented
* Strong leadership and supervisory skills, emphasizing continuous improvement
* Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills.

Additional Job Board Information

At PACCAR, we value talent and promote growth and development. We carefully consider numerous compensation factors including your education, training, or experience. The salary range for the Cost Accounting Supervisor is $84,000 - $112,300 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift. Additionally, this role is eligible for the full range of benefit options listed above.
