PURPOSE:
The Senior Staff Accountant, a key member of the Specialties Accounting & Finance team, will report to the Plant Operations Controller, SPS. This vital role is central to the Company's financial operations, with direct responsibility for the financial close process and the comprehensive ownership of month-end costing. Beyond the critical close periods, the Senior Staff Accountant will engage deeply across the business, providing crucial analysis on costs to support departmental and organizational decision-making. Additionally, the role entails a strong focus on audit compliance, ensuring the company adheres to the highest standards of financial integrity. The Senior Staff Accountant will also be tasked with crafting ad hoc reporting, offering tailored insights to meet specific strategic needs. This position not only demands acute analytical skills and a thorough understanding of accounting principles but also offers the opportunity to influence company-wide financial strategies and contribute to our continuous improvement culture.

KEY OBJECTIVES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Collaborate with Specialties Plant Accountants to ensure accurate inventory valuation by providing essential support and oversight
* Streamline the period-end product costing process
* Manage the monthly and annual process of setting accounting and production standards, optimizing financial performance and resource allocation
* Partner with the Master Data Management Team to standardize material setups across plants, improving data integrity and operational consistency
* Proactively monitor and address and discrepancies or errors in cost estimates, ensuring financial accuracy and minimizing impact on the bottom line
* Provide critical support in margin analysis and reporting, delivering insights that guide strategic business decisions and profitability enhancement
* Act as the control owner for periodic, quarterly, and annual accounting controls, ensuring compliance and financial integrity
* Prepare and consolidate Specialties Journal Entries
* Address accounting and financial inquiries by researching, interpreting, and providing data-driven insights, supporting informed decision-making
* Create and deliver ad hoc reports and schedules efficiently, meeting diverse stakeholder needs with precision and agility
* Document procedures and spearhead the development of standardized processes
* Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:
* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
* 3+ years of relevant work experience in accounting or finance.
* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the use of formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools, to efficiently manage and analyze financial data

PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCES:
* Experience within the accounting function of manufacturing environment is greatly valued.
* SAP Experience is strongly preferred
