Business Analyst

  1. Business Systems and Reporting


    • Generates reports and, as appropriate, coordinates the regular creation, production, and maintenance of department reports. When appropriate, build needed reports and extract from system.
    • Prepares materials or data to portray department metrics for use by management or executives to internal or external groups.
    • Influences enhancements to business processes and system infrastructure to improve data quality across multiple sources.
    • Creates and maintains workflows and materials demonstrating end-to-end process.


  2. Business Project Analysis


    • Identifies opportunities to answer business questions or improve business functions using results from data analysis.
    • Presents opportunities and recommendations to management
    • Works with staff and management within the department and other business areas as required to fully understand business scope, business constraints, and business implications of analytical results.
    • Translates analysis into informed business decisions for management.
    • Provides feedback to department staff and management based on issues identified through data and quality review and analysis.
    • Perform data analysis for employer groups and effectively present information to non-healthcare professionals.
    • Performs data analysis on case management delegates and presents to provider organizations.


  3. Business Solution Development


    • Proactively communicates with department managers and key business areas to maintain awareness of state memos, contract changes, and federal regulations; provides impact notification and guidance.
    • Identifies deficiencies and opportunities for improvement in programs; monitors against expectations via report and data validation.
    • Works within the department and other business areas to adjust policies & procedures, workflows, or desktop procedures to adapt to changing needs and requirements.
    • Takes initiative to research issues, conduct root cause analysis, documents methodology, and prepares analytical results/summary findings/ presentation reports.
    • Develops and maintains program documents, including policies and procedures, desktop procedures, and training materials.
    • Develops dashboards to track performance of model of care (MOC) programs compared with case management delegates.


  4. Other Duties/Functions


    • Performs all other miscellaneous responsibilities and duties as assigned or directed.
    • Assists with special projects and department priorities/initiatives, such as researching and mining charts for large claim inquiries and other requirements
    • Support staff with similar responsibilities to ensure daily operations continue.
