We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Accounting Analyst to join our team at Protective Life Insurance Company. This position requires a strong data driven mindset, as well as the ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze daily/monthly data feeds between NetSuite vs other systems (Sales, cancels and claims), communicate to IT and various team members to resolve any differences. Consult with Manager regarding any delays
  • Reinsurance Reserve reporting and transfer funds to our 3rd party (Assurant) in a timely manner. Consult with Retro team regarding changes to Reinsurance companies
  • Collect data and analyze accounting ledger vs data tables to record Unearned Premium, post entries according to analysis for GAAP and STAT basis
  • Provide data for year-end 1099 reporting for various initiatives (dealer markup)
  • Provide data for new clip conversion initiative to PPCIC
  • Reconciliation and ownership of the assigned balance sheet accounts including monthly reports in (Certification: Cadency)
  • Primary back up for various other duties including, but not limited to, monthly agent and dealer commissions
  • Provides data querying, quantitative and analytical decision support to all departments as requested.
  • Analyzes and solves problems and assists others in troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Pcard reconciliation - handling big sets of data, payments made to repair facilities with one-time use credit card and reconcile with ledger
Experience/Education
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience (insurance experience preferred).
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or related required.
  • Excellent organization and prioritization skills.
  • Strong analytical capabilities and problem solving skills.
  • Highly proficient in MS Excel (Macros and VBA experience is a plus in addition to pivot tables and vlook-ups)
  • Solid understanding of Microsoft Office programs
  • Extended warranty or Insurance background is a plus
Protective's targeted salary range for this position is $80,850 to $92,000. Actual salaries may vary depending on factors, including but not limited to, job location, skills, and experience. The range listed is just one component of Protective's total compensation package for employees.
This position also offers additional incentive opportunities [through an annual incentive based on individual and Company performance] OR [through cash compensation as part of a sales incentive plan (SIP).
