JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Brand Management Intern

Reports to: Brand Manager

Key Internal Partners: Marketing and Sales

Key External Partners: Agencies, Vendors, and Partners

Location: New York, NY / Hybrid

Time: June 2024, 3 month internship

Compensation: $21/hour, 30 hour/week

Job Summary:

The Brand Management Intern will possess strong strategic, analytical and creative thinking skills, as well as demonstrates leadership and initiative. They will be involved in the planning and executing of all phases of the brand plan as well as contribute to some innovation projects.

Job Responsibilities & Tasks:



  • Analyze competitive marketplace trends and make recommendations on actions to address them

    • Analyze business results/program results and make recommendations for future plans
    • Use syndicated sources (e.g., ac IRI, home scan...) to collect and connect data for the analysis of trended consumer and volume dynamics


  • Leverage insights on business needs and objectives to help plan and execute marketing plans

    • Apply marketing concepts (e.g., brand positioning, brand architecture, SWOT analysis, competitive assessment, marketing objectives/strategies, consumer segmentation) to assist in the development of marketing plans
    • Provide direction to outside agency partners to guide execution of programs to meet brand objectives across all channels


  • Project Management

    • Assist in writing business cases to present new projects to leadership
    • Provide day to day direction to cross-functional partners on project basis


  • Creative concept evaluation

    • Ability to evaluate creative concepts and executions based on creativity, strategic alignment and consumer impact




Key Performance Indicator (KPI):



  • Execute with excellence the tasks that he/she has been assigned
  • Provide solid analysis


Position Requirements:

EDUCATION



  • Bachelor's degree in marketing or related field
  • MBA is a plus


EXPERIENCE



  • Nielsen or IRI is a plus

PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS



  • Must be able work in normal office conditions.
  • Must be able to work 8 hours per day and be on his/her feet for extended periods of time.
