About This Role:



Based in Manhattan, KS, this Admissions Representative serves as a spokesperson for the university to the general public with the goal of attracting new undergraduates (freshmen and transfer) to K-State by driving interest, applications and enrollment. This position will work on-campus in the Berney Family Welcome Center and will focus recruitment efforts throughout the state of Kansas as well as some out of state areas. Primary duties include:



  • Initiate and maintain a personal relationship with prospective students and family members throughout the recruitment process.
  • Apply knowledge of University such as admissions standards, scholarship and financial aid opportunities, and academic programs in order to guide prospective students.
  • Support visitors to campus through presentations, individual appointments, and campus tours.
  • Travel approximately 60% in a recruitment cycle with some evenings and weekends required.
  • Develop travel schedule, use data and tools to determine priorities for event attendance, and be fiscally responsible with the travel-related financial support provided by the office.
  • Assist in the creation and execution of in-person and virtual recruitment events both on and off campus.
  • Review scholarship applications and make recommendations for awards.
  • Work closely within the K-State community and coordinate volunteer efforts of alumni, parent/family, current students, faculty, and staff to assist in recruitment strategy.
  • Have proficiency with technology and database systems to effectively support recruiting efforts.

What You'll Need to Succeed:



Minimum Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's Degree (at time of appointment)


Preferred Qualifications:



  • A highly successful collegiate classroom experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills through involvement in campus academic and extracurricular activities (i.e., leadership in organized living groups, student organizations, service experiences).
  • Experience with CRM software, including knowledge of data filters.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in multiple computer programs (Microsoft Office including knowledge of Excel, and efficient use of e-mail. Native or near-native Spanish language proficiency.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, excellent organization skills, and the ability to work both autonomously and in a team environment.
  • Be very familiar with and enthusiastic about K-State. Strong social skills and must be able to meet people easily and adjust quickly to varying situations.
  • Possess a high energy level and be able to work under strict deadlines.
  • Self-motivation, a team attitude, and a consistent commitment to a high standard of excellence are preferred.
  • Graduating K-State senior or have a recent K-State B.A. or B.S. degree.



Other Requirements:



  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.
  • Valid Driver's license with no restrictions upon employment.
  • Travel, including some evenings and weekends.
