We are searching for a well-organized, reliable Maintenance Controls Technician to join our excellent company. The technician's responsibilities include diagnosing and repairing electronics, reading manuals, and installing new equipment, as well as performing routine servicing and inspections, assisting with training, recruitment, and electronic upgrades. This person will provide an elevated skillset and efficiently manage electronic systems and equipment.

To be a successful Controls Technician, this person will demonstrate strong mechanical skills and enjoy performing tasks with the hands. Outstanding technicians can use a wide range of resources to solve problems and feel comfortable working alone and with a team.

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the ideal candidate will help plan, design, develop, manufacture, install, troubleshoot, and repair Electronic equipment. The technician's resume must show high-level technical skills and experience in design, installation, testing, and problem-solving.

  • Set-up bakery machinery and equipment according to the bakery schedule.
  • Install/Repair Allen Bradley Powerflex VFD's, Hitachi VFD's, and Allen Bradley PLC's.
  • Monitor assigned line and troubleshoot bakery equipment, conveyors, lifts, switches, electric eyes, rails, grids motors, etc. and notify the appropriate company personnel as required.
  • Prepare plans to correct the problem, consulting with co-workers or the manager when necessary.
  • Replace, Repair, Adjust and Modify electrical, mechanical, or hydraulic, pneumatic equipment as needed.
  • Read Electrical schematics to troubleshoot complex controls systems.
  • Perform and assist with line set ups and changeovers as needed.
  • Install/Repair Allen Bradley Powerflex VFD's, Hitachi VFD's, and Allen Bradley PLC's.
  • Test and implement electrical systems and products based on specifications.
  • Identify parts and supplies required for repairs and maintain parts inventory as needed and inform the parts clerk.
  • 85% Maintenance duties and 15% Controls duties.

What we require:

  • At least 5+ years combination experience within the following fields:
    • Industrial Electronics repair and troubleshooting.
    • Industrial maintenance of conveying systems, ammonia systems, and power transmission.
  • Experience with Programmable logic controller (PLC), design, installation, testing and problem-solving.
  • Must be able to work 3rd shift (9:00 pm - 5:30 am).
  • Must be able to work 5 days a week and on weekends.
  • Knowledge and experience with any CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form.
  • Ability to work in cold temperature environments as low as -40 degrees.
  • Ability to lift approximately 50 lbs.
  • Associate Degree in related Electronics field preferred.

  • Industrial maintenance, electrical and/or electronic training/experience.
