Position Title: International Business Development Intern

Reports To: Senior Director, International Business Development

Position Type: Internship

Work Environment: Hybrid (in-office and remote work)

Schedule and Hours: up to 10 hours per week (during academic year)

40 hours per week June - August (negotiable after)

Summary of Position

The purpose of this internship is to support JobsOhio's Business Development activities, with a primary emphasis on international business development. In this role you will learn about international economic development by supporting the JobsOhio team in our efforts to attract new companies to the state. This role will encompass aspects of research for client leads and projects, business intelligence, and event support.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist with on-site support of the Midwest-US Japan Association's annual conference in Columbus, Ohio Sept. 8-10th (depending on academic schedule)
  • Assist with creation of a Korean Business handbook, including professional services firms across the state with Korean language capability.
  • Provide research support and business intelligence for BD team:
    • Utilize various data platforms to research lead and project related info (wages, real estate costs, etc.)
    • Assist with business intelligence efforts to find market leading companies internationally for outreach
  • Assist with SalesForce data entry:
    • Ensure that international companies and multipliers (law firms, accounting firms, construction firms, etc.) are up to date and allocated to the appropriate campaigns
    • Become familiar with SalesForce reporting and best practices
  • Monitor and support JobsOhio's digital presence:
    • In conjunction with our Marketing team, ensure that any JobsOhio events, project announcements, and cultural events that take place are tagged to the appropriate channels
    • Support the content development for the international webpages
    • Research and create a report on social media best practices for foreign direct investment attraction
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications

Experience Requirements

  • Candidate must be proficient in MS Office and have an interest in International Business Development.
  • Good judgment and ability to plan to accomplish goals
  • Strong communication and organization skills

Education Requirements

  • Applicant must be pursuing a bachelor's degree, with an interest in international relations.
