Overview

LMI is seeking a skilled Radar Systems Engineer (SME) in Colorado Springs, CO or Chantilly, VA.

The Radar Systems Engineer is the subject matter expert (SME) on all matters relating to radar systems and ensures as accurate portrayal of all aspects of radar systems (e.g., capabilities, development, testing, operations, processing) in technical discussions, and in the development and execution of studies, analyses, algorithms, models, simulations, and other technical products and efforts described in the SOW. Occasional travel is required.

Responsibilities

    Acts as an advisor and provides technical support to the government
  • Recognized as a radar subject matter expert, specifically in the areas of Synthetic Aperture Radar, Space Time Processing, and Moving Target Indication
  • Supports the System Program Office (SPO) in a technical capacity for planning, execution, monitoring, and oversight of Radar payload systems development and acquisitions that advance the National Reconnaissance Office's (NRO) space resiliency posture
  • Applies advanced technologies, scientific principles, theories and concepts to develop novel radar system solutions
  • Develops and maintains an in-depth understanding of system level requirements for assigned systems and the design features that satisfy these requirements
  • Oversees design and development of Radar payload systems and components
  • Assists the government in developing concept of operations (CONOPS) and approaches for radar systems
  • Leads and prepares trade studies, system sensitivity studies, design optimization studies, system performance assessments, and system design assessments
  • Ensures research and development (R&D) efforts are planned and conducted on sound engineering practices including management of technical risks
  • Providing oversight of acquisitions, with specific focus on the Radar payload systems elements, functionality, interfaces, manufacture, build, test, and operations to ensure end-to-end system closure and satisfaction of mission requirements
  • Develops documents and briefings to communicate work status, briefs government and industry as required


Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor of Science degree
  • Ten (10) years of experience in the field of SOSI Radar systems analysis, design, development, fabrication, integration, test and operations.
  • Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph required. US Citizenship required

Desired

  • Graduate degree in a technical discipline
  • Experience with radar component and systems development, missions and applications of radar systems, including scientific and intelligence support efforts, and agency missions, performance metrics, project plans and schedules, and concepts of operation is desired.
  • Fifteen (15) years of experience in the field of SOSI Radar systems analysis, design, development, fabrication, integration, test and operations.
  • Five (5) years NRO experience

Target salary range: $123,000 - $219,000. Final compensation will be determined by a variety of factors including but not limited to your skills, experience, education, and/or certifications.
