Department Information
Student and Campus Event Centers manage a group of buildings across campus that provide spaces for a variety of activities for students and visitors to enjoy including Exhibition Hall, Historic Academy of Medicine, John Lewis Student Center and Stamps Commons, The Pavilions, and West Village.We offer a variety of services, programs, and spaces to serve the Georgia Tech community. We are home to the Student Center Programs Council (SCPC), Tech Rec, Paper & Clay, the Graduate Student Lounge, Multicultural Programs Lounge, and the Reflection Space.

Job Summary

Serves as a first point of contact for visiting guests and clients while inside facility. Provide direction and participate in manage/coordinate the daily operations with of the John Lewis Student Center and Stamps Commons, Exhibition Hall, Pavilion, Historic Academy of Medicine, and West Village Dining Commons. Responsible for ensuring the management of event activities in all spaces, including AV.

This position will interact on a consistent basis with co-workers, other Facilities staff, departmental personnel, faculty, students, clients, and guests.
This position typically will advise and counsel: students, faculty, and staff.
This position will supervise: N/A.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Ensure that customer requests for equipment and room set-ups are met in a timely manner. This includes event set-ups, equipment needs, and audio/video assistance.

Job Duty 2 -
Assist facility leadership with executing emergency response within the facility in the event of emergency.

Job Duty 3 -
Lead and motivate a team of students in the absence of Operations and Events management.

Job Duty 4 -
Operate a motor vehicle to move furniture and equipment. Perform maintenance and minor repairs of equipment.

Job Duty 5 -
Place furniture and equipment onto assistive equipment (hand truck, forklift, etc.) and transfer to moving van, truck or within building. Unload at new location.

Job Duty 6 -
Deliver, set-up and breakdown tables, chairs, stages, audio-visual equipment, and other needed equipment for use in campus events.

Job Duty 7 -
Interact with and provide exceptional customer service to guests.

Job Duty 8 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma

Other Required Qualifications
Valid Georgia Drivers License Requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods. Incumbent is the first contact for the guest services managers and emergency personnel beyond office hours as the facility is open 24/7.

Required Experience
One to two years of job related experience

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge and skills in staging processes and sequences, motor vehicle operation, use of hand tools and assembly skills; setting up audio/ video equipment, such as projectors, computers, audio systems, etc. Experience working with students ina leadership capacity. Attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.
