Salary for Announcement

The minimum of the pay range for this position is $41,200. We anticipate the qualified candidate to be placed between $46,300 - $53,000. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training. Additionally, Student Affairs has committed to tying our salaries to an understanding of a living wage. To that end, we will not pay less than $46,300.

The above salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

As MSU Denver seeks to be the national leader in educating students for tomorrow's careers, the Classroom to Career Hub (C2Hub) works to ensure programs are aligned to Colorado workforce development trends and the Colorado Talent Pipeline report. With an ambitious goal of engaging 100% of students in robust career planning in the next few years, the University is committed to creating services that are scaled, highly evaluated, and focused on the specific needs and interests of MSU Denver students. To that end, successful team members think critically about MSU Denver student demographics and their respective career planning.

The Career Engagement Team works within the Student Success unit of the Classroom to Career Hub to provide robust programs designed to engage all MSU Denver students in career readiness opportunities. The Student Employment Programs Specialist is responsible for planning and implementing programs and services to enhance the experience of MSU Denver student employees.

This position will implement programs that facilitate career readiness and integrate career skill development and learning outcomes into the student employee experience. This position also works to ensure that C2 Hub student employees are supported, connected and prepared for careers after graduation and all programs and services affirm student unique identity and reflect our university values of equity and social justice

Duties/Responsibilities

Program Management - (40%)

  • Manage the Student Employment Learning Outcomes (SELO) program which facilitates NACE Competency skill development for MSU Denver student employees.
  • Implement the Student Employment Job Fair each semester to connect students with on-campus job opportunities
  • Support strategic decisions and provide direction for the Off-Campus Work Study program
  • Supervise Student Employment Coordinator
  • Coordinate and implement Student Employee Appreciation Week for the Division of Student Affairs at MSU Denver

C2 Hub Student Employee Support - (25%)

  • Implement training, teambuilding and skill development for C2 Hub student employees
  • Assist C2 Hub supervisors with student employment processes, policies and operations

Supervisor Support - (15%)

  • Coordinate opportunities to support professional and skill development to supervisors of student employees at MSU Denver
  • Serve as C2 Hub liaison to Human Resources, Financial Aid and other partners to help streamline and improve student employment processes and procedures

Assessment and Reporting - (10%)

  • Assess, evaluate and report impact and outcomes of student employment programs and services
  • Ensure student employment and equity data in Career Link is accurate and comprehensive.
  • Develop surveys, collect, and analyze data from students, internal and external stakeholders on above mentioned programming

Campus Engagement - (5%)

  • Participate in campus committees and strategic initiatives that support goals and vision of C2 Hub, Student Affairs and MSU Denver
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with campus partners
  • Develop and maintain thorough understanding of C2Hub resources and integrate into student employment programs and services

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Program management experience
  • One year experience in supervising professional staff
  • Experience working with student success programs
  • Experience supervising student employees
  • Knowledge of student employment practices in higher education
  • Assessment and evaluation experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Experience working at a Hispanic serving institution
  • Knowledge of higher education Financial Aid Work-Study policies
  • Knowledge of or experience working in career services
  • Knowledge of emerging trends in student employment

Work Hours

  • This is a primarily in-person position with opportunity to work remote
