Job Summary

Lumos' 2024 Internship Program is offering an exciting Market & Business Development Intern position supported by one of our Directors of Market Development - helping to connect with the communities for whom we're building the fiber network of the future.

Duties & Responsibilities



  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative research and analysis on trends and issues in broadband.
  • Support Business Development team, which creates custom solutions for multi-family properties and communities, on research and analysis.
  • Track and monitor, draft memos and other documents on broadband issues for various audiences.
  • Assist with coverage and notetaking for various online local government or state legislative events.
  • As needed, represent Lumos through industry associations, consultants, and other potential calls and take notes
  • Enter and maintain data in databases and systems including but potentially not limited to Salesforce and Teams
  • Research of community leaders and influencers on ZoomInfo
  • Event planning and coordination
  • Monitoring of social and traditional media for Lumos and its competitors/partners
  • Represent Lumos at various business, government, and community meetings and events.
  • As needed, speak/present on the internship experience to internal groups
  • Draft letters of support and/or talking points for broadband for various audiences
  • Conduct desktop research to support Market Development objectives.
  • Attend meetings with a wide variety of internal SMEs on a host of topics.
  • Create a final internship project, paper, video to be discussed.


Qualifications



  • Education:

    • Open to students who have completed their freshman year and are actively pursuing a degree at an accredited institution.
    • Duration of the program will be for 10 weeks following the end of the spring semester.


  • Core Hours: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm with flexibility available.
  • Valid Driver's License: infrequent travel to worksites or corporate offices may be necessary.
  • Key Competencies:

    • Adherence to regular and predictable attendance and punctuality.
    • Professional demeanor and behavior suitable to a workplace environment.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly build familiarity with other platforms like Salesforce and ZoomInfo.
    • Strong passion for broadband and digital equity.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to keep track of multiple projects at once.
