Internship Overview

James Hardie is seeking inquisitive, energized, collaborative, and adaptable college students for our 2024 summer intern program.

Over the course of our 10-12-week internship experience you will have the opportunity to:



  • Work directly with a mentor in your field of study while gaining experience in the field of recruitment.
  • Experience our products up close by touring our state-of-the-art manufacturing and / or research facilities.
  • Interact directly with our company leaders to discuss strategy and the future of James Hardie.
  • Build a lasting professional network through social events and engaging activities.
  • Gain the skills and knowledge to become a future leader in the building materials industry.



Position Details:

As a member of our Talent Acquisition Team, you will get experience in the following areas including but not limited to:



  • Full life cycle recruiting with an emphasis on sourcing and interviewing
  • Coordination of on-site interviews
  • Campus recruitment planning
  • Recruitment social media


Available Locations: Chicago

Hourly Rate: $22.00/hr

Work location: Hybrid (minimum 3 days per week in office)

Shift: First shift, Monday through Friday

Relocation stipend available: No

Basic Requirements:



  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor program from an accredited college / university with an expected graduation date between May 2025 - December 2026 (Rising Junior or Rising Senior status)
  • Ability to work full time for 10-12 weeks during summer 2024.
  • Authorized to work in the US.
  • Strong academic performance including a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Must have reliable transportation to and from the work location.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Program majors: Human Resources, Business
  • Previous internships / co-ops or work experience and / or involvement with student or civic organizations
