JOB INFORMATION

** We are hiring for either a Testing Tech I (or) Testing Tech II. Candidates will be considered at the higher of the 2 levels they qualify for. **

JOB SUMMARY

Performs Air Emission Compliance Testing and performance testing on Steam Turbines, Generators, Boilers and auxiliary equipment.

LEVEL OF RESPONSIBILITY

Performs responsibilities with standardized processes. Works under general supervision. Resolves routine questions and problems using basic principles of field. Refers the more complex issues to higher levels. Generally follows established procedures to accomplish requirements of job. Some latitude for deviation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

* Assists entry level technicians.

* Performs general tasks of Air Emission Testing under the direction of a Qualified Individual as defined by ASTM-D7036.

* Responsible for properly operating and maintaining the laboratory standards to maintain NIST traceability.

* Responsible for the setup, calibration, quality assurance, and data collection and documentation for other testing to monitor and evaluate plant and/or system performance.

* Supports plant outages working as an instrument and controls technician with demonstrated ability to work independently.

* Completes and publishes calibration and testing reports for documentation purposes.

* Responsible for the setup and operation of performance testing equipment for the Process Engineering group, applying industry standards (e.g.

* ASME, ASTM, NFA, ISO, AGA,API, ISA) as applicable.

* Obtain primary authorized employee (PAE) certification under the lock out tag out procedure.

REQUIREMENTS

Testing Tech I

* Bachelor's Degree in any field (AND) 2 years experience maintaining instrumentation and controls or testing; Or

* High School Diploma/GED (AND) NICET level I or ISA level I certification; (AND)

* 2 years related I&C, industrial controls (OR) equivalent military experience; Or

* Associate's Degree in a Technical discipline (i.e.Electronics, Engineering Technology, Power Plant Operations, etc.), Or

* Prior military experience at the journey level or one enlistment completed with DD Form 214 - Discharge Papers and Separation Documents, Or

* 2 years journey level experience in a craft technical/mechanical role.

Testing Tech II

* Bachelor's Degree in any field (AND) 3 years experience maintaining instrumentation and controls or testing; Or

* High School Diploma/GED And NICET level I or ISA level I certification (AND)

* 3 years related I&C, industrial controls (OR) equivalent military experience and completion of Field Testing Technician training program; Or

* Associate's Degree in a Technical discipline (i.e. Electronics, Engineering Technology, Power Plant Operations, etc.), Or

* Prior military experience at the journey level or one enlistment completed with DD Form 214 - Discharge Papers and Separation Documents, Or

* 2 years journey level experience in a craft technical/mechanical role).

WORKING CONDITIONS

* Ninety percent (90%) or more of time may be spent at customer sites and/or various company work locations (i.e.

* OG&E power plants, Wind generation facilities, Corporate Headquarters, Shawnee Service Center).

* Required frequent travel and overnight stays (i.e. 80 nights per year).

* Required to attend training at various locations (i.e. within Oklahoma and out of state).

* May be required to work in small, enclosed areas, and in dusty conditions.

* May be exposed to extreme conditions and inclement weather.

* May be required to climb ladders and to work at heights up to 250 feet and work at high elevations for extended periods.

* May be required to lift fifty (50) pounds or greater.

* May be required to work non-standard work schedules to include extended consecutive work days, overtime, weekends, and holidays.

* Required to wear personal protective equipment (i.e. flame retardant clothing, steel toed boots, hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, fall protection etc.).

* May be required to obtain and maintain certifications.

SPECIAL SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

* This position is classified as a Safety-Sensitive Function under United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) regulations. Individuals in this position are subject to the terms and conditions set forth in OGE Energy Corp.'s USDOT Drug Testing Plan.

* All positions in which driving is an essential function of the job, regardless if the job code is marked safety sensitive or not, will also be included as safety sensitive. Individuals in positions in which driving is an essential function are subject to the terms and conditions set forth in OGE Energy Corp.'s Drug Testing Plan.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAS)

* Demonstrated strong ability to comply with safety policies and seen as a leader in Incident and Injury Free (IIF).

* Strong knowledge and understanding of test methods from 40 CFR, Part 60 , Appendix A.

* Strong knowledge of fundamental instrumentation and control concepts.

* Strong knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and their application.

* Strong knowledge of maintenance, testing, installation and repair of most types of instrumentation and control components.

* Ability to communicate with individuals at various levels throughout the organization.

* General knowledge and understanding of the Beamex calibrator and database.

* Strong computer skills using MS Office.

* Ability to read and interpret detailed electrical and control drawings.

* Demonstrated mechanical aptitude in the use of hand tools.

* Ability to take on additional responsibility.

* Strong knowledge of plant test codes, equipment requirements, setup, calibration and operation.

* Understands and applies the basic principles and concepts of primary standards set by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) when performing calibration and testing of plant instrumentation.
