Job Description

Visa Technology & Operations LLC, a Visa Inc. company, needs aStaff Site Reliability Engineer (Multiple Openings) in Austin, TX to analyze historical performance and transaction data of visa systems. Work on capacity planning for upcoming merchant's promotions or peak season. Characterize end to end system performance, and assist teams with application performance from application to infrastructure, and performance monitoring, providing recommendations on optimizing performance and capacity of application and server infrastructure. Responsible for daily monitoring and collecting data from application and infrastructure performance across production and non-production environments. Develop Shell and PowerShell scripts for APM agent workflows such as agent upgrades, restarts, and selfheal, and develop automation using CloudView, VVMS or scalable run, as needed, and assist Operations to re-mediate vulnerabilities of APM agents. Characterize end-to-end system performance from application to infrastructure by leveraging tools and data such as VROPS, BMC TSCO, Splunk, Opera, and SysDig. Perform capacity and peak season analysis for tier zero and tier-1 applications, making recommendations and sharing with various key stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Review capacity and performance requests, analyze performance and system resource data, and publish recommendations. Position reports to the Employer's Austin, Texas office and may allow for partial telecommuting.

Qualifications

Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or related field and 4 years of experience in the job offered or in a computer systems engineer--related occupation.

Rate of Pay:The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is $119,100.00 USD to $190,400.00 USD per year. Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for an annual bonus and equity.
