Georgia Tech Office of Development (DEV)

Led by the Vice President for DEV, Jen Howe (), our fundraising team at Georgia Tech currently consists of 88 professionals who are focused on securing transformative philanthropy (major and principal gifts) to support the strategic priorities of the Institute and its colleges, schools, and programs including Athletics. For fiscal year 2022 (closed 6/30/2022), the DEV teams efforts resulted in over $211 million in new gifts and commitments helped to publicly launch Georgia Techs largest comprehensive campaign in the Institutes history Transforming Tomorrow: The Campaign for Georgia Tech which is intended to bring over $2 billion in new commitments and gifts from individuals, foundations, corporations, and other organizations. One of the most significant priorities within Transforming Tomorrow is ensuring access of the brightest undergraduate, graduate and professional students to Georgia Tech, regardless of their socioeconomic background. Job Summary

The Director of Donor Relations & Events in the Office of Development is a member of the Gift Administration, Donor Relations, & Events team with overall responsibility for systematically recognizing and maintaining relationships with donors and prospective donors to Georgia Tech. The Director is principally responsible for donor recognition, including the management of donor recognition projects and oversight of donor events and donor acknowledgments.
This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Major donors, Office of
Development management and staff, college/school management and staff and appropriate communications staff.

This position will supervise: assigned staff.

Responsibilities

Job Duty 1 -
Responsible for directing facilities-related campus-wide permanent donor recognition program, with established standards. Coordinate ordering and production of recognition plaques in accordance with established standards.

Job Duty 2 -
Collaborates with the VP of Development to identify potential fundraising naming opportunities for Institute facilities, including those under construction, and staffs the Institute-wide naming committee, preparing agendas and detailed briefings to ensure protocols are followed in accordance with Board of Regents and Institute naming policies.

Job Duty 3 -
Recommend, plan, and implement recognition programs that account for the preferences of major donors.

Job Duty 4 -
Develop and oversee the acknowledgment and recognition of all gifts to the Institute, and will share the impact of philanthropy proportionately to the contribution received.

Job Duty 5 -
Manage a portfolio of $100K+ prospects in permanent stewardship.

Job Duty 6 -
Provide oversight of Georgia Tech Boards and evaluate and manage the life-cycle of board membership.

Job Duty 7 -
Perform related duties and assist team and department lead with projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Other Required Qualifications
Overnight travel required for project delivery; flexibility in on-site daily service delivery hours (due to client shift schedules, project requirements).

Required Experience
Four to five years of job related experience

Preferred Qualifications

Additional Preferred Qualifications
Preference will be given to candidates that have worked in this field at public and/or complex higher education institutions or related foundations.

Proposed Salary

Salary Range: $83,043-$101,00
