Senior Director DTC Excellence

Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

Direct to Consumer business represents 40% of NAM business and is critical for NAM success. Beyond the scale of the business, the impact we can create on every consumer thanks to Retail, eCom, Omni and Partner Programs is massive and unique.

The Senior Director is a key leadership role within NAM SCM responsible for NAM SCM strategy execution. Defining the Key Strategic Initiatives to achieve operational excellence, Implementing the Key initiatives (or Tracking of implementation) to contribute to the overall DTC company strategic business plan.

Additionally, the Senior Director is tasked with driving market targets related to DTC performance. This includes defining the strategy to achieve expected targets, as well as implementing and tracking the key actions to ensure success.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Co-develop the 5+ year strategic roadmap to meet consumer expectations in NAM in collaboration with Commercial teams and in alignment of Global Strategy by pro-actively driving SCM priorities into it
  • Define and determine the to-be Supply Chain set up (global and markets) to execute strategic roadmap (balance demands and requirements between senior leadership teams)
  • Drive market targets achievement (eCom, retail and partners program Net Sales, margin, costs and consumer service level), including the definition of the strategy and the implementation and tracking of the big bets
  • Negotiate and partner with senior management teams across the organization (up to Senior Vice President)
  • Drive and manage implementation of the required capabilities (e.g., eCom and Retail delivery windows, fast order fulfilment via ship from store or dark stores, etc ...)
  • Define delivery milestones for strategic roadmap considering complex business priorities, strategies and the respective Supply Chain DTC delivery capabilities
  • Ensure timely execution of NAM strategic DTC roadmap
  • Achieve key delivery KPI's (COTIF, 3DD delivery share, next day delivery share)
  • Own and control e-com, retail and partners program SCM related costs.
  • Create smooth and sustainable communication between SCM NAM, global SCM functions and Sales to maintain the balance between needs and capabilities
  • Maintain expertise of the direct to consumer industry and competitor trends, disruptive technologies, and other advances or environmental changes, and assess their impact on strategic roadmap



Key Relationships:



  • Establish and maintain the relationship with senior stakeholders across the group to secure the alignment & implementation of the NAM DTC roadmap
  • Identify and manage wide corporate network of senior stakeholders and forge deep relationships across the business
  • Stakeholders can relate to the following core functions (up to SVP level):

    • Global DTC Teams
    • NAM SCM
    • NAM Market
    • GOPS S&P
    • Global Digital Sales, Digital Sales Solutions, Tech teams - when needed)
    • Other GOPS and Corporate Functions (when needed)
    • Finance
    • Tech

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills with ability to effectively and efficiently interact with various levels of the organization.
  • Proven leadership and engagement skills to drive change and implementation of long-term strategic DTC roadmap within NAM
  • Strong grasp of Supply Chain principles and functional operating practices as well as cross-functional experience and business/financial acumen.
  • Able to formulate and socialize a strategy based on fact and analysis and translate it into action
  • Able to manage and prioritize a portfolio of several large-scale projects
  • Able to develop trusting, collaborative relationships with operational partners
  • Able to interact and influence at the highest levels of the market organization
  • Strong presentation and communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Strong team player with proven ability to work cross functionally to achieve goals and objectives
  • Demonstrated ability of managing cost performance, supply/demand forecasting & distribution execution for a broad product range across multiple locations
  • Ability to bridge strategic, tactical and operational business concepts by applying an end-to-end Global mindset.

  • Demonstrates solid leadership principles, a mentoring focus and great aptitude for leading diverse people and teams, with awareness, sensitivity and consistent professionalism.
  • Strong English language proficiency both written and verbal as well as overall strong communication abilities.
  • Ability to travel by aircraft domestic and international.



Requisite Education and Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain Management from a College or University. We welcome the equivalent combination of education and experience in lieu of a degree
  • Minimum 10 years work experience in one or more Supply Chain Management, Business, or Finance functions in a global company, ideally in the sporting goods industry.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience directly managing people, preferably experience managing people managers.
  • CPIM, Lean Six Sigma Certification a plus.
  • University degree, PMP and lean sigma certification preferred, MBA is a plus.
