The Dietary Aide is responsible of washing pots and pans, serving meals, stocking products, and overall kitchen duties as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Is responsible for the opening of the cafe and the service for breakfast including: the front of the house by making sure coffee is made, all condiments are filled, plates, cups, to go containers, sugar/artificial sweetener, creamers, etc..
  • Prints all 3 meals of special diet labels and makes sure has all of the dietary request sheets from each unit.
  • Answers phone with a polite and respectful manner
  • Prepares unit carts based on guidelines and expectations.
  • Places labels on to go containers by each unit. Each diet is placed on the cart according to what Unit the patient is on.
  • Informs the utility person when carts are ready for the units.
  • Prepares salads.
  • Provides the cook with counts of special diets for the lunch and Adolescent orders.
  • Prepares bags for the Green St. lunches.
  • Makes sure there are enough condiments needed for lunch service and removes the plastic knives from the line and assists the PM diet aide as needed.
  • In between lunch service, prepares the snack bags for all units.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, G.E.D required or actively working towards
  • Two years experience in a health care institution preferred
  • Serve Safe Certificate 2. Good communication skills
