Leads a team of Business Data Analysts & Data Developers, including setting direction and priority for Data Solutions activities, assigning, and overseeing resource allocation for team members, and coaching/mentoring. Uses professional expertise to ensure successful data management (data analysis, data development, data extracts) and data modernization efforts to utilize on-prem and cloud technologies to deliver data to meet business needs SKILLS

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for developing and operating a multifunctional team with a focus on data curation, data pipelines, data extraction and sharing.
  • Establishes policies, procedures, and workflow for Data Solutions team.
  • Partners with Enterprise Architecture and Data Architecture to provide oversight on design and implementation for data solution development, including but not limited to new data platforms, primary and secondary storage environments, etc.
  • Collaborates with the Data Warehouse team to support the transfer of knowledge to Data Solutions as well as serving as a SME consulted in Data Warehouse decisions.
  • Partners with the Data Governance teams to ensure that policies and standards are developed and followed by the Data Solutions team.
  • Develop, coach, mentor, and lead team members for sustained individual and team performance.
  • Accountable for team objectives where goals and processes are defined.
  • Influences internal department management on set processes, deadlines, and guidelines.
  • Establish and maintain relationships across departments and within the Data & Analytics and Technology teams to understand strategic priorities and identify opportunities to deliver trusted data.

Education Requirements

  • Requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in data/technical/computers discipline.
  • Additional years of qualifying work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

Experience Requirements

  • Requires at least 4 years of people leadership experience.
  • 7+ years of experience with Data Management.
  • 4 -5 years of technical experience developing with SQL, ETL, ELT practices.
  • Previous data analysis experience, including utilizing tools such as SQL.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Data Warehouse & Analytics best practices.
  • Strong client management skills with experience negotiating and comprising.
  • Ability to work with key stakeholders while managing demanding delivery deadlines.
  • Requires effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Organizational skills are necessary to respond to inquiries, set schedules, meet project deadlines, and instruct employees.
  • Experience creating a data sharing framework with a focus on automation.
  • Experience working with sensitive data including, but not limited to, PII, PHI, and company confidential.
  • Lead team in innovative ideas and implementation strategies for Data Management.
  • Ability to remotely mentor and develop team.
  • Power to influence peers/managers and build consensus while dealing with ambiguity.
  • Strong experience in agile methodologies. In depth knowledge of agile software development practices using Azure DevOps and Continuous Integration and Continuous Development tools.
  • Experience observing change management and code promotion through non-production environments.

Preferred Experience

  • 7+ years' experience in healthcare.
  • Direct experience in Cloud (Azure) data migration and program management.
  • Experience with cloud-based data sharing.

  • Must have the ability to provide a non-cellular High Speed Internet Service such as Fiber, DSL, or cable Modems for a home office.
  • A minimum standard speed for optimal performance of 30x5 (30mpbs download x 5mpbs upload) is required.
  • Latency (ping) response time lower than 80 ms
  • Hotspots, satellite and wireless internet service is NOT allowed for this role.
  • A dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information

GEHA considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.

The annual base salary range for this position is $131,937 - $185,983 USD.
