Outreach Specialist:

Our client is looking for a non-traditional part time Outreach Specialist to support their Relay contract in the State of North Carolina. This is an opportunity to work with a fast paced, high energy, innovative culture and make a difference! The right candidate is a self-starter and a strong public speaker who understands the value of the Deaf and people working in the Deaf/Hard of hearing community. Familiarity with ASL (American Sign Language) is strongly desired.

The ultimate goal of the Relay North Carolina Program is to create a functional, barrier free telecommunications access experience for the Deaf/Hard of hearing, when using a phone. The position supports the program manager by providing training and presentation, monthly reporting and documentation needed to market, conduct outreach and support; including Social Media.

We would like the right candidate to start as soon as possible,



Requirements:



  • Experience in providing presentations and training to an audience
  • Experience in exhibiting booth tables at various events and conferences
  • Business administration experience required, i.e.: submitting monthly reports, working with tight deadlines and developing reports
  • Proficient with MS Words, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficient with Social Media
  • Creative "out of the box" thinker
  • TRS (Telecommunications Relay Service) knowledge preferred but not required
  • ASL (American Sign Language familiarity (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to travel (approximately 75% of time spent traveling to provide Outreach and training at various locations.)
