Internship Overview

James Hardie is seeking inquisitive, energized, collaborative, and adaptable college students for our 2024 summer intern program.

Over the course of our 10-12-week internship experience you will have the opportunity to:

• Work directly with a mentor in your field of study while finding solutions to dynamic and challenging problems.
• Experience our products up close by touring our state-of-the-art manufacturing and / or research facilities.
• Interact directly with our company leaders to discuss strategy and the future of James Hardie.
• Build a lasting professional network through social events and engaging activities.
• Gain the skills and knowledge to become a future leader in the building materials industry.

Position Details:

As a member of our GAIA Technology Team, you will support project work including but not limited to:

• Researching, scoping, and assessing alternative cement/binder technology.
• Conducting special projects or tasks as assigned with limited supervision.
• Participating in designing, executing, testing, analyzing data and reporting findings on a sub-project and/or lab scale trial.

Location: Fontana, California

Hourly rate: $25/hr

Shift: Day shift, Monday through Friday

Basic Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program from an accredited college / university with an expected graduation date between May 2025 - December 2026 (Rising Junior or Rising Senior status)
• Ability to work full time for 10-12 weeks during summer 2024.
• Authorized to work in the US.
• Strong academic performance including a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from the work location.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Program majors: Material Science, Chemical, Mechanical Engineering or related field of study.
• Previous internships / co-ops or work experience and / or involvement with student or civic organizations.
