At the American Red Cross, your uniqueness can shine! We are currently seeking a Sr. Disaster Program Manager to work in Syracuse or Utica, NY supporting our Eastern New York Region. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW: The Sr. Disaster Program Manager will manage the implementation of the disaster services program in eastern New York based on the regional configuration. Lead and manage a team of local Disaster Program Managers and Supervisors responsible for the implementation of disaster preparedness, response, and recovery programs in the local area. Plan, direct, and implement department, service or program overall strategic goals and objectives. Ensure the development of Disaster leadership volunteers in each of the program support functional areas of the disaster cycle in order to meet the needs of the territory, region, state and division. The Sr. Disaster Program Manager is responsible for local preparation, response and recovery management as well as management of government partnerships with assigned territory. Drivers for this work include the number of municipalities within its coverage area, the amount and complexity of program activity, presence of significant grant funding, geography, risk, population, frequency of events, and regional structure. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers. Specific duties: oversee day-to-day Disaster Services operations for the Region; support and mentor Disaster Program Manager; fill in for the Regional Disaster Officer as needed. * Combination of candidate's education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description's minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted). The salary range for this position is (NY): $81,200 - 83,314. Note that American Red Cross salaries are aligned to the specific geographic location in which the work is primarily performed. Other factors that may be used to determine your actual salary may include your specific skills, how many years of experience you have and comparison to other employees already in this role.
